Vitebsk to host international festival of modern choreography

Dancers from ten countries will take part in the international festival of modern choreography which will be held in Vitebsk on November 26-30, BelTA learnt in the Vitebsk Centre of Culture.

Attending the dance competition will be 20 choreographic groups from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Kazakhstan, China, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland and Slovenia. Dancers will present 9 one act ballets and 19 choreographic miniatures.

The concert programme of the festival will include the best ballet performances of Belarusian and Russian choreographers and a theatrical project of the centre of modern art Loco Motion /Sweden/.
On November 26, the Vitebsk audience will be able to see the performance of famous German ballet troupe Gauthier Dance.

Within the framework of the festival, various video-performances and master-classes with the participation of famous choreographers from Moscow, Kiev, New York and Yekaterinburg will be held. The Vitebsk Concert Hall will host photo-exhibition of famous Moscow photo-artist Vladimir Lupovsky “People like Birds”. In 2008, this exhibition won a gold at the international contest in Sophia.
