MINSK, 12 July (BelTA) – An exhibition of Belarusian traditional costumes and rushnyks has opened in Paris, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian Embassy in France.
The diplomatic mission informed that the exposition was presented by the Museum of Ancient Belarusian Culture of the Kondrat Krapiva Institute of Art History, Ethnography and Folklore of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
Director of the Museum of Ancient Belarusian Culture Boris Lazuko and senior research assistant of the Kondrat Krapiva Institute of Art History, Ethnography and Folklore Maria Vinnikova introduced attendees to the history of Belarusian national costumes and traditions associated with them. Guests were also given colorful leaflets about the exhibits of the museum.
The opening ceremony was accompanied by a classical music concert by Belarusian musicians. The exhibition and the concert aroused enthusiastic interest in governmental officials, diplomats, businessmen, cultural figures and the Belarusian diaspora.
The exhibition will stay open in the Belarusian Embassy in France till the end of September.
