MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) – The winner of the national beauty pageant, Yulia Skalkovich, will represent Belarus at the Miss World contest, BelTA learnt from the press service of the ONT TV Channel.
The Miss World 2012 finals will be held in Ordos, China, on 18 August. However, Yulia Skalkovich will leave for China on 18 July.
The schedule of the beauty pageant is packed with events, like excursions, semi-finals, press conferences, receptions, photo shoots, and daily rehearsals. Throughout the duration of the contest, winners in the following challenge events will be chosen: Beach Beauty, Sports and Fitness, Performing Talent, Top Model, Multimedia Award, Beauty with a Purpose. The winners will automatically proceed to the semi-final.
The Miss World Multimedia Award will be presented for the first time. Contestants will be able to upload videos, images and messages. The contestant presentations will also allow fans to follow and interact with all of the Miss World contestants in the build up to the Miss World finals on 18 August. Viewers will be able to vote for the blogs of the beauties on the official website of the Miss World contest. The winner will be determined by viewers.
Yulia Skalkovich has prepared a folk dance for the Performing Talent nomination. The costume for the dance was made by famous Belarusian designers. Yulia Skalkovich will also bring a book about Belarus in three languages to present to the organizers of the show.
Yulia Skalkovich is 20 years old. She is an architecture student at the Brest State Technical University.
The Miss World pageant will be broadcast by the ONT TV Channel. An estimated 1 billion people are expected to watch the final show.
