GOMEL, 11 April (BelTA) – The Pushkin Drama Theater of Kursk will tour Gomel on 23-26 April, BelTA learnt from representative of the Gomel Oblast Drama Theater Irina Oleinik.
One of Russia’s oldest theaters will bring to Gomel its tragicomedy Tartuffe by Moliere, melodrama The Wedding Day by Viktor Rozov, comedy Savage by Alejandro Casona and children’s play Birthday of Leopold the Cat by Arkady Hayt.
The Pushkin Drama Theater of Kursk was founded in 1792. A talented bondman Mikhail Shchepkin made his debut on its stage in 1805 and later became an outstanding Russian artist.
Irina Oleinik added that the Gomel Oblast Drama Theater is also expected to welcome theaters from Ryazan and Brest this season which ends in mid summer.
