The Second Belarusian-German Energy Forum may take place in Q2 2009. The preliminary agreement has been reached in Berlin, BelTA learnt from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Germany Vladimir Skvortsov after the session of the Belarusian-German working group for trade and investments.
According to the both sides, this forum offers a good opportunity to exchange information, share experience and strengthen contacts between governmental bodies and companies, the diplomat underlined.
The First Belarusian-German Energy Forum was held in Minsk in May 2008. Participating in the forum were representatives of federal and local ministries of Germany, Bundestag, German Energy Agency, major companies operating in the area of energy and energy saving. The second forum is expected to be held in Germany.
According to the Ambassador, the session of the Belarusian-German working group for trade and investments featured strategic bilateral projects, including the ones in the energy area. “Belarus and Germany have a great cooperation potential in the area of energy efficiency and energy saving, the use of alternative and renewable sources of energy,” Vladimir Skvortsov said.
He pointed out the friendly atmosphere of the negotiations and expressed his hope that the bilateral relations will be brought on a brand-new level.
