Amkodor plans to export over 100 vehicles to Turkmenistan

MINSK, 30 July (BelTA) – Amkodor plans to deliver more than 100 pieces of equipment to Turkmenistan. The equipment will be used in the petroleum and chemical industries, transport and communications, and fishery industries, BelTA learnt from the press service of the company.

Contracts will be signed soon. Amkodor will supply the equipment by the end of the year through its official dealership in Turkmenistan, Yarav Trading House. Amkodor will supply front-end shovel loaders with carrying capacity from 3.4 tonnes to 4 tonnes, fork lift trucks, airport sweepers, excavators and backhoe loaders.

Amkodor equipment will be delivered to Turkmenistan within the frameowrk of a resolution issued by President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov of Turkmenistan under which a number of Turkmen ministries, departments and companies were allowed to purchase Belarus-made special-purpose equipment including Amkodor vehicles. Amkodor has a long history of business cooperation with Turkmenistan. The company has been a long-staning supplier of special-purpose equipment to that country.

In Q2 2010 Amkodor commodity output increased by 46.8% over Q1 in comparable prices. The monthly average output rose by 60 pieces of equipment. The commercial output increased by 46% in comparable prices, the labor productivity was up 43.1%.

In H1 Amkodor tripled export over the same period a year earlier. The export growth made up 303.1% as compared to the six months of 2009. The company reported a trade surplus of $7.4 million.

The company has been investing heavily in the technical upgrade and innovation development. The H1 investment target has been met in full. Almost Br2.5 billion was invested in the first half of the year.

Amkodor is now actively hiring. The company’s personnel increased by 94 specialists in Q2 over Q1.

Amkodor is one of the CIS’ and Europe’s largest manufacturers of road construction vehicles, municipal, snow-removing, timber industry, agricultural machines and other special vehicles. The product range includes over 80 models and modifications. Amkodor vehicles are used in more than 30 countries across the globe. The company employs about 5,000 people.
