MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) – The National Bank of the Republic of Belarus forecasts the average dollar/ruble rate at the level of Br9,150 in 2012, chairperson of the central bank Nadezhda Yermakova told reporters.
Nadezhda Yermakova noted that it is difficult to predict what will be the exchange rate of the Belarusian ruble in 2012. “But we predict it at the average annual rate of Br9,150 per $1. Although, on the basis of the economic development forecast, we think that the dollar will be weaker and the ruble will be stronger,” she said. The exchange rate of Br9150 per $1 is the worst, most pessimistic version, said the head of the National Bank.
She noted that this year the average dollar rate is expected to make up Br8,600. “Br8600 per $1 is what we have now,” said Nadezhda Yermakova. In her view, December will not bring significant changes in this regard.
