MINSK, 31 January (BelTA) - The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) is ready to help Turkmenistan with the technologies for the potash industry, Sergei Chizhik, Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences, said as he met with the delegation of Turkmenistan.
"Members of the delegation took interest in the Belarusian equipment to process potash salts. Turkmenistan needs our capabilities and technologies if they want to manufacture products with high added value,” said Sergei Chizhik.
The Turkmen guests also showed interest in the Belarusian technologies in the field of micro- and nano-diagnostics, unmanned aerial vehicle. The Academy of Sciences, in turn, offered its assistance to Turkmenistan in the study of earthquake-prone areas, forecasting and assessment of the state of buildings, determining seismic risks in the mining zone. In addition, the NASB is ready to train scientific staff for Turkmenistan in Belarus.
According to Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences Vladimir Gusakov, the Academy of Sciences cooperates with Turkmenistan in biotechnology, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and the mining sector. "Today's meeting is aimed at expanding the list of promising areas of cooperation between the two countries in science, technology and innovation," said Vladimir Gusakov. The National Academy of Sciences has identified 19 projects and has developed action plans for their joint implementation. This program was handed over to the head of the Turkmen delegation, Deputy Vice Premier of Turkmenistan Babaniyaz Italmazov.
