VILNIUS, 11 March (BelTA) – Vice-Premier Viktor Burya, the head of the Belarusian official delegation at the official celebrations to mark the 20th Anniversary of Reestablished Lithuanian Independence, met with the President and the Prime Minister of that country. The prospects of bilateral relations were discussed during these meetings, Viktor Burya told BelTA.
The head of the delegation conveyed official congratulations to President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite. “We discussed the possibility of future meetings and contacts with a view to developing the bilateral relations,” Viktor Burya said.
According to him, the issues which are of bilateral interest were discussed during a meeting with Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius. “I think the future of our relations is good. We will continue working,” the Belarusian Vice-Premier said.
The celebrations started early in the morning with an official session and a flag-hoisting ceremony. The high guests also attended a parade of the Lithuanian Armed Forces on the Independence Square and Holy Mass in Vilnius Cathedral.
A dinner in honor of the heads of foreign delegations was given in the President’s Palace. The President of Lithuania also met with the Presidents of Poland and Latvia.
