MINSK, 23 November (BelTA) – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Herman van Rompuy on his election as President of the European Union, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service on 21 November.
“I am confident that under your guidance the European Union will successfully tackle all the difficult tasks that it faces,” said the Belarusian President. Alexander Lukashenko confirmed his deep interest in the development of a constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation between Belarus and the European Union.
