MYADEL DISTRICT, 30 July (BelTA) – Belarus’ infrastructure is sufficient for quality recreation of children, said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko as he visited the national children’s education and recreation center Zubrenok on 30 July.
“We have created enough to allow the children that need rest to go to forest and go to the countryside for recreation,” said Alexander Lukashenko.
The President said that there is no need to enlarge Zubrenok. “It is necessary to polish it, build what is planned and stop,” he said. It was stressed that in the 1990s Zubrenok managed to fully retain its territory and infrastructure unlike similar centers in the ex-USSR.
According to Alexander Lukashenko it is necessary to develop other children’s centers without increasing the burden of the state budget. “Let’s not expect that we will expand this state social part,” he said.
Zubrenok’s recreation opportunities are in demand not only in Belarus but in CIS states. The President believes it is necessary to increase the children’s center’s capability to welcome foreigners. “It is necessary to think about creating good conditions and make them pay their way,” he said.
The head of state examined Zubrenok’s infrastructure and took part in starting a military patriotic game Patriot. It is the fourth year that such military sports games and celebrations have been held in Zubrenok with assistance of the State Security Committee.
Alexander Lukashenko talked to children, watched the progress of the Patriot game and tasted army porridge.
After that the head of state was invited to take part in a “bonfire of friendship”, the key traditional event. Around the bonfire about 180 children and pedagogues gathered, with cheerful children’s songs sung. Alexander Lukashenko was presented a souvenir made by the children.
