MINSK, 2 September (BelTA) – The Executive Board of UNDP / UNFPA approved a country program of the United Nations Fund for Population Activities for Belarus 2011-2015 at an annual session in the UN headquarters in New York, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry told BelTA.
It is the first country program for Belarus. Stable positive dynamics of cooperation with the respected international fund was an important prerequisite for adopting the program, said the source.
The implementation of the country program will help further enhance the national potential for reproductive health, population and development, ensuring gender equality. The availability of the long-term cooperation strategy will help increase UNFPA-sponsored financial aid to Belarus.
