A national scientific conference of young scientists, postgraduate and university students “Human and environmental ecology in post-Chernobyl period” will be held in Minsk on November 27-28, BelTA learnt from the International Sakharov Environmental University.
The conference is aimed at finding talented specialists in the area of environmental protection, raising interest of the youth in scientific and research work. During the conference young people will get familiar with the latest achievements of the Belarusian environmental science.
The programme of the conference comprises about 170 reports on four major topics: medical and biological effects of low-dose radiation; radioecology and radiation safety; environmental monitoring and management; social issues and environmental education.
The conference will feature major medical and environmental concerns of today, biotechnological studies in Belarus, climate change, economic efficiency of different kinds of power engineering. A special focus will be placed on personnel training for the nuclear power engineering.
Participating in the conference will be representatives of the Education Ministry and Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Protection, university professors and scientists from the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The forum is organized by the International Sakharov Environmental University.
