GRODNO, May 12 (BelTA) – On July 2-5, Grodno will host the international conference of free software developers Linux Vacation/Eastern Europe 2009, Gleb Rubanov, one of the organizers of the event, told BelTA.
The conference will discuss various technical and legal aspects of development, use and introduction of free software. Experts are expected to discuss not only Linux but other platforms, working stations and servers including virtualization-based solutions, built-in systems and mobile devices. The conference will include a number of workshops and round tables where the participants will be able to share experience and discuss the free software development.
This is the fifth time that Belarus will host the Linux Vacation/Eastern Europe Conference bringing together specialists in free software.
According to the organizers, the conference allows specialists to share experience in design, development and introduction of the Open Source solutions. The conference allows the IT-society to hold a direct dialogue on the opportunities of using free software.
The Linux Vacation/Eastern Europe Conference has been organized by the Minsk Linux Users Group, specialists from Grodno and Brest. The event is held under the auspices of EPAM Systems, SaM Solutions, Alatys, Promwad, BLRSoft and Onliner. Attending the meeting will be more than a hundred free software developers and users from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland and Hungary.
