Kazimira Prunskiene: Belarus’ election campaign is well organized

20.12.2010 09:49

MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – The presidential election campaign in Belarus was organized well and in due form, former Prime Minister of Lithuania Kazimira Prunskiene told reporters on 19 December. She was monitoring the presidential election in Belarus, BelTA has learnt.

Kazimira Prunskiene informed that Lithuania has similar rules of voter registration, getting ballot papers and polling. “The voting was secret, it is an essential principle of a democratic election,” the observer said.

“It is very important for people that Belarus’ economic performance is stable despite the economic crisis. Belarus has preserved and multiplied its achievements. This makes people choose stability,” Kazimira Prunskiene believes.

She liked that people came to the polls high-spirited, many brought children and the turnout was rather high.
