MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) – 20-year-old Yulia Skalkovich from Brest was crowned Miss Belarus 2012 on 4 May, BelTA has learnt.
The crown weighs 120 grams and is made of white gold, decorated with phianites and chrystolites.
The winner also got an opportunity to present the country at the Miss World beauty contest. All the finalists will be able to partake in other international pageants (Miss Europe, Miss Intercontinental, Miss International).
Yulia Skalkovich was also named Miss Photogenic.
Viktoria Shavel from Gomel became First Runner-Up. She also grabbed the Miss Sport title. Anastasia Pogranichnaya from Zhodino was named Second Runner-Up.
The Miss Top Model title went to 20-year-old Brest resident Natalia Brishten. 21-year-old Olga Nikoforova from Vitebsk claimed the Miss Talent title.
The contestants named 19-year-old Inna Konovalova from Gomel Miss Friendship. 20-year-old Maria Velichko from Vitebsk took the Miss Charity title.
The winners of the titles received bonuses, with Miss Belarus 2012 cashing Br50 million.
Competing in the contest were 28 girls from different regions of the country.
The beauty contest is held once in two years. In 2010 the crown was taken by Lyudmila Yakimovich from Grodno.
