Interpol’s decision on BPC case proves the correctness of Belarus law enforcers’ actions

29.08.2013 09:05

MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – Interpol’s positive answer to Belarus’ request to issue an international warrant for the arrest of top managers of Belarusian Potash Company (BPC) proves the correctness of the actions of the Belarusian law enforcement agencies, head of the department for information and public relations of the Interior Ministry of Belarus Konstantin Shalkevich said in an interview to the ONT TV channel, BelTA has learnt.

“Interpol is always careful with respect to such requests. It happens the organization denies them. But in the case with the BPC top managers Oleg Petrov, Konstantin Solodovnikov, Igor Yevstratov, Dmitry Samoilov, the decision was taken within two hours,” Konstantin Shalkevich said. He added that the relevant requests had been sent to all Interpol member states, i.e. more than 190 countries.

“Interpol’s involvement is a confirmation of the correctness of the actions of the Belarusian law enforcement bodies by the most authoritative international organization,” he said.

As it has been earlier reported, criminal proceedings have been launched against Chairman of the BPC’s Supervisory Council Vladislav Baumgertner, member of the Supervisory Council Oleg Petrov, First Deputy Director General Konstantin Solodovnikov, Finance Deputy Director General Igor Yevstratov, Head of the Freight Department Dmitry Samoilov.
