MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) - The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has accepted Belarus’ bid to host the UEFA Europa League final in 2015 or 2016, Chairman of Belarus Football Federation (BFF) Sergei Rumas stated at the BFF regular conference.
Sergei Rumas said that if the bid gets through, the second most significant European club tournament will be held on the renewed Dinamo stadium in Minsk. Reconstruction of the main football arena of Belarus is to be launched in October 2012 and finished in 2014. After the reconstruction the stadium will be used for football matches only and will correspond to the most advanced standards. Sergei Rumas also said that they will preserve the historical look of Dinamo stadium which is familiar to many generations of Minsk citizens.
Sergei Rumas also said that the BFF is planning to build 5 football stadiums in the oblast centers. They also plan to build 8 standard football fields with artificial turf and several dozens of small football fields. On the whole, development of football infrastructure is one of the BFF major priorities, Sergei Rumas added.
