MINSK, 3 June (BelTA) – Belarus have won two medals (a gold and a bronze) at the third ISSF Rifle/Pistol World Cup that concluded on 29 May in Germany’s Munich, BelTA has learnt.
Victoria Chaika took the 10m air pistol gold having scored 199.6 points (20 shots) in the final. Lee Yean Cheah of Malaysia was second (197.8, 20 shots) with Germany’s Munkhbayar Dorjsuren third (175.1, 18 shots). Victoria Chaika was eighth in the qualification (384 points, 40 shots) and was the last of all shooters who got through the women’s 10m air pistol qualifiers.
Belarus' shooter Ilya Chergeiko won the men’s 10m air rifle bronze at the third ISSF Rifle/Pistol World Cup on 25 May. He earned 186.2 points with 18 shots.
Belarus medal hopeful, gold medalist of the 2012 London Olympics Sergei Martynov failed to go through the qualifying round on 27 May. He was 38th (617.3 points) in the men’s 50m rifle prone event.
